OSWEGO BASEBALL & SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION
Our Mission:
To provide the opportunity for all children between the ages of 5 and 14 to learn the sport of baseball and softball in a safe, welcoming, and instructive environment - fostering a love for the game, while encouraging sportsmanship, teamwork, building confidence and having fun.
Our History:
Since 1989, OBSA has prided itself on providing a first-class youth baseball and softball experience for the boys and girls of Oswego SD #308. We are community based, volunteer centric organization who has helped expose thousands of kids to the games of baseball and softball. Dozens of our players, through the years, have gone on to play competitively through Oswego (or other) Travel programs, through High School and onto college baseball & softball.
Our Vision:
It is our vision and goal to bring the youth of our community into our organization at a young age to grow and develop with us as they progress through our program.
Each program within OBSA transitions into a higher level of skill and difficulty, providing opportunity for athletes to build skills and develop advanced levels of competitive play in their sport.
We provide teams & leagues of all ages and skill levels throughout OBSA
- Fundamental/Skills based In-House leagues for ages 5 - 14 (Catching, hitting & throwing fundamentals, knowledge of field positions and rules of the game)
- Competitive In-House Tournament Teams for kids looking to play at higher level of competition but not quite ready for travel teams
- Travel Programs (Oswego Panthers & Oswego Liberty) to help provide a path for advanced athletes to further develop, and prepare them to play high school baseball and softball
Kids are evaluated each year and given feedback on strengths, weaknesses and ways to improve.
As our community grows so will the leagues and the facilities with active help from families and businesses in the area.
Baseball: Our league is open to any player between the ages of 5-17 by April 30th in the calendar year of season and resides within the boundaries of Oswego School District 308 or the Oswegoland Park District.
