10U Blue wins the 2014 10U KCBL Tournament Updated 7/14/2014
The 10U Blue Panthers topped off a great season winning the 2014 10U KCBL Classic Tournament. The Panthers completed a fantastic 29-10 season which included winning their regular season 10U KCBL Division and placing second in the Cobra Summer Classic tournament. Here's to a great season Panthers!!!

13U Blue wins 2014 13U Gold KCBL Tourney Updated 7/14/2014
The 13U Oswego Panthers Blue team won the KCBL Gold Tournament over this past weekend.  This group of boys pitched and played great defense throughout the tournament and went 4 - 0 during their run.  They had victories of 12 - 2 over the Oswego Cobras, 3 - 1 over the Wasco Wildcats, 5 - 0 over the Aurora Rebels and beat the Aurora Lightning 4 - 2 in the championship game.  This brought their season ending record to 45 - 10 with 3 tournament championships, two second place finishes and they also took third in a 23 team national tournament in Kentucky.  A truly great effort by all and a great way to cap off a wonderful season!

13 U Blue Takes Second Place Updated 5/27/2014
The Oswego Panthers 13U Blue team took second place over Memorial Day Weekend in the Downers Grove Longshots Nations Tournament in the Premier Division.  This tournament had 14 of some of the top 13U teams in the area competing in it.  The boys played great baseball all weekend with their only loss coming in a tight championship game by a score of 6 - 5.  During their great run, this group of 10 boys beat a team with a 20-1 record by the score of 7-1 in bracket play, hit multiple home runs, played great defense and had 9 different players pitch them through 6 games.  A total team effort was put together by all the boys.

9U Panthers win Rockford Tournament! Updated 5/19/2014
Congrats to the 9U Panthers on winning the "Attitude Is Everything" tournament this past weekend in Rockford. The Panthers went 5-0 in route to victory. Great job Panthers!

The Oswego Panthers 12U Blue won the Yorkville Battle at Bridges tournament for the second consecutive year during the weekend of May 9-11 going 4-0 in tournament play.

13U Blue Spring Challenge Champions! Updated 4/28/2014
Congrats to the Oswego Panther 13U Blue team on their Championship run at the Huntley Red Raider Spring Challenge!  All boys contributed to a total team effort in which they only allowed 7 runs total in two pool play games and recorded 3 shutouts in the playoffs while averaged scoring 10 runs a game!  Great job all!

A local recreation league registered with the national Protect Our Nation's Youth (P.O.N.Y.) organization!

The goal of OBSA's spring baseball and softball programs is to provide current and aspiring baseball and softball players a safe, wholesome environment with a balanced mix of teaching fundamentals of the game, how to play competitively, teamwork, sportsmanship and generally conduct themselves with class and respect at all times.

Who Is Eligible:

OBSA is open to all students (boys and girls) in Oswego CUSD #308 or all (boys and girls) who reside within the boundaries of Oswego CUSD #308 as follows:

OBSA Pony Baseball ages 5 through 18

OBSA Pony Softball ages 7 through 16

*Age Level is determined by 1) if you are the age [ ] by April 30th, 2014 (baseball) or by December 31, 2013 (softball), you will play in that level. For example: if you are 6 years of age today and will be 7 years of age by [ ] by April 30th, 2014 (baseball) or by December 31, 2013 (softball), you can play at the Pinto or Rookie level, or 2) If you are 14 years of age by April 30th, 2014 (baseball) or by December 31, 2013 (softball) and are a freshman in high school, you can play at the lowest eligible level or you can play at the next higher level (intended for high school age participants) or you can play both but must pay both fees.

2014 Season: 

  • In order to be guaranteed a roster spot, you must complete your son and or daughters registration by January 26, 2014.
  • Season will consist of 14 games, 1 game on a weekday and one game Saturday or Sunday
  • With the exception of OBSA Shetland Baseball and Rookie Softball, all other teams are "kid pitch"
  • Season games start on April 26th  and runs approximately 10 weeks (end of June).  ***The Colt Season will begin after the High school seasons are over, typically the first week of June for the first game and runs through the end of July.***
  • Shetland, Pinto and Rookie Team Rosters will be selected randomly, no car pool requests please. Siblings in the same age group will be placed on same team
  • Mustang, Bronco, Pony, Minor and Major participants are required to attend evaluations and will be drafted. Siblings in the same age group will be placed on same team, unless otherwise requested.

Payment Plan: 

Payment plans are no longer available for new players registered after the final payment due date of February 15th, 2014

OBSA will offer a payment plan as follows:

1st payment = 50% down, 2nd payment, balance due Feb 15 *Payments are not automatically deducted.  You need to monitor your fees through your OBSA MYL account.

*Registration payment dates: 1st payment (50% down) for all registrations completed between Dec 6, 2013 and Feb 15, 2014.  Registrations received after Jan 26, 2014 and before Feb 22, 2014  will be assessed a $25.00 late fee.  Any registration received after January 26, 2014 will be assessed a late fee and conditionally accepted with full payment due upon registration.  Conditionally accepted registrations will be placed on a waiting list.  Conditionally accepted applicants will be placed on a team on a first come first served basis. Final payments will be due on or before February 22, 2013.  Players will not be issued uniforms or allowed to practice or play unless all fees are paid. 

Late Fee:  A $25 per player late fee will be assessed if a player is not registered by JANUARY 26, 2014.  This is to encourage all parents to register their child by this date in order for the organization to submit league uniform orders that will guarantee timely delivery and allow the organization to make the appropriate coaching assignments.  Parents, please pass the word around that registration is open and that January 26, 2014 is last date before a late fee will be assessed.

Waiting List:  Any registration received after January 26, 2014 will be conditionally accepted and are not guaranteed a spot on a team.  Conditionally accepted registrations will be placed on a waiting list.  Conditionally accepted applicants will be placed on a team on a first come first served basis.  In the event we are unable to place your child on a team, your registration fee, less any online registration processing fees charged to OBSA.

Equipment:  OBSA will provide each participant with a t-shirt, pant, cap and or visor.  OBSA will also provide team equipment, including team bag, helmets, catching equipment, including catcher's mitt, practice balls, game balls, scorebook and first-aid kits.  Parents are encouraged to purchase their own helmets, mouth-guard, cleats (see below), facemask (for softball), bat, and glove.  NOTE:  Only rubber/plastic cleats are allowed in OBSA In-House Baseball and Softball.  The only exception would be OBSA's Colt/Palomino League. 

Allowed Bats:  OBSA's Colt/Palomino League bats must be BBCOR certified, no less than drop three (-3) and no wider in diameter than 2 5/8" i.e. IHSA regulation.  For OBSA In-house baseball, no bat shall be wider in diameter than 2 5/8" and in 2014, all bats must have the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp on the bat.  OBSA DOES NOT ALLOW ANY 2 3/4" BATS
